A passenger on Volaris flight 3041 from El Bajío to Tijuana, Mexico, attempted to hijack the aircraft by force to divert it to the United States on Sunday. The individual, identified as Mario 'N', a 31-year-old, claimed he had received a death threat and could not land in Tijuana. The crew managed to subdue him, and the flight was rerouted to Guadalajara Airport where the passenger was handed over to authorities. Volaris, one of Mexico's main airlines, confirmed the incident, stating that the passenger tried to take control of the plane. The National Guard and the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) implemented security protocols at Guadalajara Airport following the attempted hijacking.
