IDF Seizes Over 85,000 Weapons from Hezbollah in 30 Villages Amid Airstrikes Violating November 27 Ceasefire
Dec 26, 2024, 08:25 AM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the seizure of over 85,000 military items from Hezbollah during operations in southern Lebanon. This includes a variety of weapons such as missiles, rocket launchers, and explosive devices, with the IDF stating that many of these items were found hidden in civilian areas. The military operation began in early October 2024 and has resulted in the confiscation of these weapons from more than 30 villages. Recent airstrikes attributed to Israel targeted advanced Hezbollah weapons in the Bekaa Valley, marking the first such strikes since a ceasefire was declared on November 27. The airstrikes reportedly destroyed warehouses believed to contain strategic weapons shipments that had entered Lebanon from Syria following the collapse of the Assad regime. The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) expressed concern over the ongoing destruction caused by Israeli forces in residential areas, describing it as a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
