Point Fire Near Lake Sonoma Grows to 121 Acres, 15% Contained
Jun 16, 2024, 09:48 PM
Firefighters are battling the Point Fire, a vegetation fire near Lake Sonoma in northern Sonoma County. The fire, which started off Stewarts Point-Skaggs Springs Road, has grown to approximately 121 acres and is 15% contained. The fire is spreading towards the south with a moderate rate of spread, and additional air and ground resources have been ordered. Evacuation warnings are in place for Zone SON-2E2. Increasing winds and decreasing humidity are contributing to the fire's activity, and Red Flag Warnings are in effect for the Sacramento Valley and surrounding foothills, including North Bay hills, for tonight and Monday.
