Israeli Soldiers Injured as Forces Kill Two Militants Crossing from Jordan Near Dead Sea
Oct 18, 2024, 08:47 AM
Israeli forces have killed two armed militants who crossed into Israel from Jordan south of the Dead Sea and opened fire on Israeli soldiers, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The incident occurred near Neot Kikar on Thursday morning. Two Israeli soldiers were injured, one moderately and one lightly, officials said. The attackers, reportedly dressed in Jordanian military uniforms, infiltrated Israeli territory and engaged with IDF troops. The IDF stated that additional forces, including helicopters, have been deployed to reinforce the area and are conducting searches on the ground and from the air for any additional assailants, as reports indicate a possible third attacker may have fled.
