An E. coli outbreak linked to McDonald's has been traced to fresh, slivered onions used in their Quarter Pounder hamburgers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) confirmed that these onions, which are no longer available for sale to food service operators, are the likely source of the illness.
