Lieutenant Colonel Ahsan Daksa, the commander of the Israeli Defense Forces' 401st Armored Brigade, was killed during fighting in the northern Gaza Strip on October 20, 2024. Daksa, aged 41 and from the Druze city of Daliyat al-Karmel, was ambushed in Jabalia, where his tank and another were struck by explosive devices. The incident occurred amid Israel's intensified siege on the Jabalia refugee camp, following multiple unsuccessful attempts to eliminate resistance fighters in the area. Daksa, a recipient of the Chief of Staff's Citation, was the highest-ranking officer to have been killed in this conflict.
