Unit 8200 is the main signals intelligence unit of the IDF. Sariel's resignation follows the unit's failure to prevent the October 7 attack by Hamas. The resignation has been communicated to IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, and Sariel is expected to conclude his role in the near future.
