UnitedHealth Group has appointed Tim Noel as the new CEO of its insurance division, UnitedHealthcare, following the targeted killing of former CEO Brian Thompson in December. Noel, who joined UnitedHealth in 2007, previously served as the CEO of the company's Medicare and Retirement business. The announcement comes nearly two months after Thompson was shot and killed in Manhattan, an incident that sparked a manhunt and raised security concerns across the corporate world. UnitedHealthcare, the largest U.S. health insurer, covers more than 50 million Americans and generated sales of $298 billion in 2024.
