President-elect Donald Trump is set to appoint Sean Curran, the head of his personal protective detail, as the new director of the United States Secret Service. Curran, who has been with Trump for many years and supervised about 85 agents, is expected to replace Ronald Rowe, the acting director. This decision follows scrutiny and pressure on the Secret Service after Trump was wounded in an assassination attempt during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024, and a second attempt at his Florida golf course on September 15.
