YouTube TV Hikes Monthly Price 14% to $82.99, Doubling Cost Since 2017 Launch
Dec 12, 2024, 10:35 PM
YouTube TV announced it will raise its monthly subscription price by 14%, from $72.99 to $82.99, starting January 13, 2025, for existing subscribers, with the increase effective immediately for new customers. This price hike brings the annual cost to nearly $1,000, signaling that streaming may no longer be the frugal alternative to cable it once was. The base plan's cost has more than doubled since its 2017 launch price of $35 per month. YouTube TV, which is owned by Alphabet's YouTube and has over 8 million subscribers, continues to expand its offerings, but the rising prices have raised concerns among customers.
