YouTube TV Raises Monthly Price to $82.99, Up 137% Since Launch
Dec 12, 2024, 05:03 PM
Google's YouTube TV is increasing its monthly subscription price by $10, from $72.99 to $82.99, starting December 12 for new users and January 13, 2025 for existing customers. The price hike represents a 14% increase and is attributed to rising content costs and service quality investments. Since its launch in 2017 at $35 per month, YouTube TV's price has increased by 137%, now exceeding the cost of some cable packages and bringing the annual cost close to $1000. The new pricing places the service significantly above its initial aim to be a cheaper alternative to cable TV.
