Trump Reinstates Cuba as Terror Sponsor Six Days After Biden's Removal
Jan 21, 2025, 12:32 AM
U.S. President Donald Trump has revoked former President Joe Biden's decision to remove Cuba from the United States' list of state sponsors of terrorism, reinstating the designation just six days after it was lifted. In one of his final acts in office, Biden had removed Cuba from the list, but Trump, upon taking office on January 20, annulled 78 of Biden's decisions, including the Cuba move. The reinstatement on January 21 imposes economic sanctions and restrictions on foreign aid to Cuba, significantly impacting the Caribbean nation.
