Aldama Alleges $6 Million Foreign Accounts for Sánchez's Wife and Montero, Prosecutor's Office Dismisses Claims
Jan 22, 2025, 09:19 AM
Víctor de Aldama, a businessman implicated in the 'Koldo case,' has claimed that a complaint was filed with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on January 13, alleging that Begoña Gómez, wife of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and María Jesús Montero, Spain's Deputy Prime Minister, hold foreign bank accounts with over $6 million. Aldama stated that he has seen screenshots and possesses evidence of these accounts. However, the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has dismissed the complaint as lacking credibility and archived it, citing the absence of supporting evidence. The complaint also mentioned accounts belonging to Sonsoles Espinosa, wife of former Spanish President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. Aldama further claimed to have sensitive information about Sánchez in an envelope, which he said he is discussing with the Prosecutor's Office. The People's Party (PP) has called on Sánchez to address these allegations, which they say implicate him and his government in a corruption scheme.
