Chris Brown Sues Warner Bros. in Los Angeles Court for $500 Million Over 'A History of Violence' Documentary's False Claims by Jane Doe

Chris Brown has filed a $500 million defamation lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery and the producers of the documentary 'Chris Brown: A History of Violence.' The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses the media company and production company Ample Entertainment of promoting and publishing false information regarding sexual assault allegations against Brown. The documentary, which aired in October 2024, included claims from a woman identified as Jane Doe, who previously sued Brown for allegedly drugging and assaulting her at a 2020 yacht party hosted by Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Brown's legal team asserts that the allegations were proven false and that Jane Doe's lawsuit was dismissed. They further claim that Jane Doe had a history of violence and erratic behavior, which should have raised concerns for the documentary's producers. The lawsuit states that despite being provided with evidence disproving the claims, Warner Bros. proceeded with the documentary's release, prioritizing profits over journalistic integrity. Brown's lawyers are seeking damages, a portion of which would be donated to survivors of sexual abuse.
