Chris Brown Sues Warner Bros. and Ample Entertainment for $500 Million Over 'A History of Violence' Documentary

Chris Brown has filed a $500 million defamation lawsuit against Warner Bros. Discovery and production company Ample Entertainment over the documentary 'Chris Brown: A History of Violence.' The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses the defendants of promoting and publishing false information about Brown, claiming the documentary portrays him as a serial rapist and sexual abuser despite being provided with evidence that the allegations were false. The documentary, which aired in October 2024, includes claims from a woman identified as Jane Doe, who previously accused Brown of drugging and assaulting her at a 2020 yacht party hosted by Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Brown's legal team argues that Jane Doe's allegations were discredited and her lawsuit against Brown was dismissed in August 2022. The suit also mentions Jane Doe's alleged history of violence and erratic behavior, which they claim should have raised red flags for the documentary's producers. Brown's attorneys are seeking damages, a portion of which would be donated to survivors of sexual abuse if Brown wins the case.
