Israel Intercepts Houthi Missile with Arrow System; Netanyahu Vows to Destroy Yemen Terror Targets
Dec 24, 2024, 12:03 AM
Israel intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Yemen by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, targeting central and southern regions, including Tel Aviv, during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Air raid sirens sounded across Israel as over 2 million Israelis took shelter. The missile was intercepted by the Israeli Air Force's long-range Arrow defense system before it entered Israeli airspace. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the IDF conducted precision strikes on Houthi strategic targets in Yemen, stating: “In recent days, together with the Minister of Defense, we have instructed the IDF to target strategic Houthi targets with precision strikes. We have destroyed significant terrorist assets…” Reports indicate that a 60-year-old woman in Tel Aviv was seriously injured while rushing to a bomb shelter, and over 20 other Israelis were injured due to panic during the missile alert.
