President-elect Donald Trump has announced via social media the appointment of former Georgia Senator David Perdue as the next United States Ambassador to China. Perdue, who served in the U.S. Senate from 2015 to 2021, was a member of the Senate Armed Services and Foreign Relations Committees. He brings a 40-year international business career, including roles as a Fortune 500 CEO and experience living in Singapore and Hong Kong.
