Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra Declares $400 Million in Assets, Including Luxury Watches and Designer Handbags

Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has declared assets totaling $400 million, or 13.8 billion baht, according to her party. The declaration includes over 200 designer handbags valued at more than $2 million, or 76 million baht, and at least 75 luxury watches worth nearly $5 million, or 162 million baht. Paetongtarn, who assumed office in September, is the youngest daughter of telecom billionaire and former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, whose net worth is $2.1 billion according to Forbes. Her assets also include investments worth 11 billion baht and cash and deposits amounting to another billion baht. Additionally, she owns properties in London and Japan. The declaration was made to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), which also noted her liabilities of nearly five billion baht, resulting in a net worth of 8.9 billion baht, or about $258 million.
