Titans Secure No. 1 Draft Pick; Patriots Drop to Fourth After Win Over Bills
Jan 5, 2025, 08:55 PM
The Tennessee Titans have secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft after their 23-14 loss to the Houston Texans, finishing the season with a 3-14 record and a 2-15 record against the spread—the worst in the Super Bowl era. The Titans' defeat, coupled with the New England Patriots' 23-16 victory over the Buffalo Bills, allowed Tennessee to move ahead in the draft order. The Patriots, who benched starting quarterback Drake Maye after one series and replaced him with Joe Milton III, needed a loss to secure the top pick but won and will now select fourth overall. The Cleveland Browns, also finishing 3-14, will have the second pick, while the New York Giants, after a 20-13 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, will select third.
