Turkey Reports Return of 52,622 Syrian Refugees Since Fall of Assad Regime on December 8

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 52,622 Syrian refugees have returned to their country from Turkey over the past month since the fall of the Assad regime on December 8. This follows the total number of Syrians returning to Syria since 2017 reaching 792,625. Currently, 2,888,876 Syrians remain in Turkey. Yerlikaya made these statements at the Cilvegözü Border Gate in Hatay's Reyhanlı district, emphasizing Turkey's ongoing efforts to facilitate safe, voluntary, honorable, and orderly returns for Syrian refugees.
