Jan 14, 2025, 05:23 AM
Ukraine launched a significant overnight drone and missile attack on multiple Russian regions, causing damage to two factories and prompting school closures in Saratov and Engels. According to reports, over 200 Ukrainian drones and 15 ATACMS missiles were used in the assault, targeting areas including Saratov, Engels, Kazan, Bryansk, and Tula. In Saratov, two factories were damaged, and schools in both Saratov and Engels shifted to remote learning due to the attacks. A gas storage tank in Kazan caught fire following a drone strike, though no injuries were reported. In Engels, an industrial site was hit, and the attack came days after a previous drone strike that caused a fire at an oil depot, killing two firefighters. The Russian Defense Ministry reported downing more than 200 drones and five ATACMS missiles. The attacks have led to temporary flight restrictions at several Russian airports, including Kazan, Saratov, Tambov, Penza, Ulyanovsk, and Nizhnekamsk.
