North Korea Deploys 10,000 Troops to Russia in Fall 2024, Enhancing Military Cooperation
Dec 23, 2024, 09:13 PM
North Korea has initiated the deployment of at least 10,000 of its troops to Russia, a move that was proposed by Pyongyang and quickly accepted by Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to U.S. intelligence assessments reported by The New York Times. This deployment, which began in the fall of 2024, reflects a deepening military cooperation between North Korea and Russia. Pyongyang is supplying arms to Moscow for its war in Ukraine in exchange for cash and oil from the Kremlin. Despite the deployment, North Korea has yet to receive anything in return from Russia, as per the reports.
