Ukrainian Drones Launch Second Attack on Russia's Ryazan Oil Refinery, Target Kursk Command Post
Jan 25, 2025, 11:45 PM
Ukrainian drones targeted Russia's Ryazan Oil Refinery, one of the country's largest oil processing facilities, in a series of attacks over the past few days. On the night of January 26, 2025, the refinery was hit again, resulting in explosions and fires, marking the second attack within three days. The initial attack on January 24 involved at least 121 drones targeting the facility, causing significant damage. The refinery, located approximately 200 kilometers southeast of Moscow, processes up to 17 million tons of oil annually and supplies fuel to regions surrounding Moscow. Ukrainian forces also launched a missile attack on a Russian command post in the Kursk region. Russian authorities reported intercepting 15 drones over three regions, including eight over Ryazan, with no casualties reported. The Ryazan Oil Refinery is a key supplier of fuel for the Russian military, producing diesel fuel and aviation kerosene among other products.
