Baby Abducted From Cosenza Clinic Found Safe After 4-Hour Police Operation, Couple Arrested

A one-day-old baby girl named Sofia was abducted from the Sacro Cuore clinic in Cosenza, Italy, by a woman posing as a nurse. The incident occurred around 6:30 PM when the woman, identified as 51-year-old Rosa Vespa, entered the room where the baby was with her mother and grandmother, claiming she needed to take the baby for a pediatric checkup. The baby was later found safe after a police operation that lasted about 4 hours, leading to the arrest of Vespa and her 43-year-old Senegalese husband, Acqua Moses. The couple had simulated a pregnancy for nine months and announced the birth of a boy on social media, only to be found celebrating with family when the police arrived at their home. The baby was dressed in blue clothing, indicating the couple's intention to pass her off as a boy.
