French Woman Loses €830,000 to Fake Brad Pitt Using AI Photos for Kidney Cancer Scam
Jan 14, 2025, 11:12 AM
A French woman named Anne was scammed out of €830,000 by a fraudster posing as Brad Pitt. The scammer used AI-generated photos and videos, as well as falsified identity documents, to convince Anne that she was in a romantic relationship with the actor. The fraudster claimed to need money for kidney cancer treatment, exploiting Anne's vulnerability and leading her to divorce her millionaire husband. Following the scam, Anne suffered from severe depression and was hospitalized. A report on the incident aired on TF1's 'Sept à Huit' program, which subsequently went viral and led to widespread online harassment of Anne. As a result, TF1 decided to remove the report from all its platforms to protect the victim from further cyberbullying.
