Dec 24, 2024, 02:31 PM
A fire broke out at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on the morning of December 24, prompting the temporary evacuation of approximately 1,200 visitors. Flames were observed in the elevator shaft between the first and second floors due to a short circuit in the power rail of an elevator. Emergency services responded to the scene and, despite initial difficulties accessing the blaze, extinguished the fire without any reported injuries. Authorities stated that no visitors were in danger, and the tower has since reopened to the public.
