The contract, awarded to 4UM Investimentos, involves a 30-year concession with investments totaling R$ 10 billion. The project aims to improve safety and infrastructure along the 303.4 km stretch between Belo Horizonte and Governador Valadares, which is expected to benefit around 4 million people and generate approximately 80,000 jobs. Lula emphasized the government's commitment to transforming the 'rodovia da morte' into a safer 'rodovia da vida'. The concession includes plans for road duplication, additional lanes, and other safety enhancements.
