The 37-year-old Serbian secured his 50th Grand Slam semifinal appearance and his 12th at the Australian Open, where he has previously won 10 titles. Despite losing the first set, Djokovic rallied to overpower the 21-year-old world No. 3 Spaniard in a match lasting 3 hours and 38 minutes.
