Turkish Prosecutors Seek Up to 15 Years for Five Daesh Members Linked to Crocus City Hall Attack, 145 Killed
Jan 2, 2025, 11:21 AM
Turkish prosecutors are seeking prison sentences ranging from 7.5 to 15 years for five foreign nationals linked to the March 2024 terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow. The suspects, accused of being members of the terrorist group Daesh, were involved in providing instructions to the attackers and promising them 800,000 rubles and new passports. They were arrested in Istanbul, and the indictment has been approved by an Istanbul court. The attack, claimed by Daesh, resulted in the deaths of 145 people and over 550 injuries, marking it as the deadliest attack in Russia in about two decades. The suspects stayed in a Daesh safe house in Istanbul's Esenyurt district and were involved in planning a bomb attack at Vegas Shopping Center.
