Syrian security forces have foiled an attempt by the Islamic State (ISIS) to bomb the Sayyida Zainab shrine near Damascus, a significant Shiite site. The General Security Service, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate, intercepted an ISIS cell of four individuals planning the attack. The operation resulted in the arrest of the suspects, preventing a potential act of terrorism in the vicinity of the capital, according to state news agency SANA.
