Iran's Local Embassy Staffer Seyyed Davoud Bitaraf Killed in Damascus Attack

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, announced that Seyyed Davoud Bitaraf, a local employee of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, was killed before noon on December 17 after his vehicle was attacked by terrorists in the Syrian capital. Baqaei strongly condemned the shooting and urged the Syrian transitional government to identify and prosecute the perpetrators, emphasizing Iran's intent to pursue the matter through diplomatic and international channels. Bitaraf's body was recently recovered and returned to Iran.
