Russia's 3-Day 'Intense' Counteroffensive in Kursk with North Korean Troops Inflicts Heavy Losses, Ukraine Says
Dec 17, 2024, 02:16 PM
Russia has launched an 'intense' counteroffensive in its Kursk region, involving North Korean troops, according to Ukraine's commander-in-chief Oleksandr Syrsky. The offensive, which has been ongoing for three days, aims to push out Ukrainian forces from the partially occupied region. Syrsky reported that North Korean units have suffered heavy losses during these operations. Ukrainian troops are holding their defensive lines, actively destroying enemy personnel and equipment. The Ukrainian military intelligence services reported that at least 30 North Korean soldiers were killed or wounded over the weekend in Kursk. Ukraine launched a surprise offensive in the region in early August, marking the largest incursion into Russian territory since World War II, and still maintains control over a small part of it.
