IDF Eliminates Islamic Jihad Commander Aiman Zaarab, Strikes Hamas Hub in Gaza
May 5, 2024, 06:50 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), conducted targeted airstrikes in Gaza, resulting in the elimination of Aiman Zaarab, a senior Islamic Jihad operative and commander responsible for the October 7 massacre on civilians in southern Israel. Zaarab was a commander of the Islamic Jihad Rafah Brigade, involved in the attacks on Kibbutz Sufa and the Sufa military post. Along with Zaarab, two additional Islamic Jihad terrorists were eliminated. The airstrikes, executed by IAF fighter jets based on precise intelligence using high-precision munitions, also targeted a Hamas command and control center located within an UNRWA compound in central Gaza. This center, which also served as a weapons supply point, was reportedly used by Hamas to orchestrate multiple attacks against IDF forces and humanitarian efforts.
