Israeli Forces Kill Elderly Woman and Young Man in Balata Camp Raid Using Ambulance on December 19
Jan 5, 2025, 06:48 AM
Israeli security forces, disguised as paramedics, conducted a raid on the Balata refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank approximately two weeks ago. Using an ambulance as cover, the forces entered the camp and killed an elderly woman and a young man. The attack, which took place on December 19, resulted in the deaths of 80-year-old Halimeh Saleh Awail and 25-year-old Qasi Hamid Sarouji. Four others were injured during the operation, including a 65-year-old man and two young men, with injuries ranging from gunshot wounds to the chest, leg, and head. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that the Israeli forces also prevented ambulances and rescue workers from reaching the scene after the shooting.
