Dec 24, 2024, 08:15 PM
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) released a final report on December 24, 2024, regarding the murder of six Israeli hostages by Hamas in an underground tunnel in Rafah. The hostages, identified as Carmel Gat, Eden Yerushalmi, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Alexander Lobanov, Almog Sarusi, and MSG Ori Danino, were killed on August 29, 2023, shortly before Israeli forces approached the area. The IDF investigation concluded that the presence of Israeli troops may have prompted the terrorists to execute the hostages. The investigation highlights that the troops were not aware of the hostages' presence in the vicinity during their operations.
