IDF Confirms Death of Staff Sgt. Yuval Shoham, 22, Among 40 Soldiers Killed in Gaza

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that Staff Sergeant Yuval Shoham, 22, from Jerusalem, was killed in combat in northern Gaza today. Shoham served in the 9th Armored Battalion, 401st Iron Tracks Brigade. Another soldier from the 931st Battalion, Nahal Brigade, was seriously injured in a separate incident in northern Gaza. The circumstances of their engagements were not immediately released. Additionally, Israeli Army Radio reported that 40 soldiers were killed in the recent operation in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
