Russian Drone Attack on Kyiv Kills Two, Injures Seven, Damages National Bank on New Year's Day

Russia launched a drone attack on Kyiv in the early hours of New Year's Day, killing at least two people and injuring at least seven others, including two pregnant women. The attack damaged buildings in multiple districts of the Ukrainian capital, including one near the Presidential Office and the National Bank building. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that debris from intercepted drones fell on residential areas, causing fires and destruction. Ukrainian air defense systems were activated to repel the assault, reportedly shooting down several of the drones.
