Trump Vows to End 'Ridiculous' Birthright Citizenship on Day One

Donald Trump has reiterated his intention to end birthright citizenship in the United States on his first day back in office. In an interview on NBC's 'Meet the Press', Trump stated that he plans to 'end birthright citizenship' and called the policy 'ridiculous'. When informed that the 14th Amendment grants citizenship to all persons born in the U.S., Trump responded that he intends to have it changed, asserting, 'We have to end it.' He emphasized that if someone sets foot on U.S. soil, they automatically become citizens, which he plans to stop. Trump also noted that the U.S. is 'the only country that has it.' Senator Lindsey Graham expressed support for ending birthright citizenship, stating that it should be achieved by executive order on Day One.
