The acting governor of Russia's Kursk region, Alexei Smirnov, reported to President Vladimir Putin that Ukrainian forces have taken control of 28 settlements in the region. The area under Ukrainian control spans 480 square kilometers with a penetration depth of 12 kilometers and a frontline width of 40 kilometers. This situation has led to significant disruption, with regional authorities uncertain about the fate of approximately 2,000 residents in these settlements. The incursion has prompted a sixth of the region's population to flee. During a meeting, President Putin interrupted Smirnov, instructing him not to mention specific numbers.
