Israel Unanimously Approves $11 Million Plan to Double Settlements in Occupied Golan Heights
Dec 15, 2024, 05:10 PM
Israel's government has unanimously approved a plan to expand Israeli settlements in the occupied Golan Heights, aiming to double the Israeli population in the region. The plan includes development in the Golan Heights and the city of Katzrin, allocating over $11 million (40 million shekels) for this purpose. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, 'Strengthening the Golan means strengthening Israel, especially during this period. We will continue to hold onto it, develop it, and settle it.' The decision was made 'in light of the war and the new front facing Syria.'
