MLB 2024 Attendance Hits 71.3 Million, Up 1%, Largest Since 2017

Major League Baseball (MLB) is set to finish the 2024 season with increased attendance for the second consecutive year, marking the first back-to-back growth since 2011-2012. With 68.9 million fans through September 24, the league recorded a total attendance of 71,348,366, which is up 1% from 2023 and 11% from 2022, making it the largest since 2017. The Cleveland Guardians reached 2 million fans this season for the first time since 2017, with merchandise sales up 20% and the new Paul Davis Pennant District generating over $1 million in group sales. Additionally, 24 out of 30 MLB clubs have increased average attendance since the adoption of the pitch clock. The 2024 season also saw viewership gains across the board for MLB's national television partners.
