UCLA's Deep-Learning AI 'SLIViT' Analyzes Medical Scans with Specialist-Level Accuracy, Thousands of Times Faster
Oct 2, 2024, 06:59 PM
Researchers at UCLA have developed a new deep-learning AI framework called SLIViT that can rapidly analyze complex medical scans, including MRIs, CT scans, retinal OCT, and cardiac echocardiography images, consistently performing at a level comparable to clinical specialists in a fraction of the time. The AI model operates almost four orders of magnitude faster than manual analysis, potentially improving system efficiency and reducing interpretation times for radiologists across various types of medical imaging.
