AlphaProteo achieves binding affinities and success rates that are 3-300 times better compared to existing methods. The system aims to unlock the design of proteins for challenging and impactful biology problems. However, some researchers have expressed disappointment over the lack of methodological details in DeepMind's white paper on AlphaProteo. The white paper indicates that AF3 is better than AF2 for filtering de novo designed binders.
