Trump to Deploy Military for Mass Deportations, Considers Camps; Plan May Begin in Chicago
Dec 12, 2024, 04:07 PM
President-elect Donald Trump has announced plans to use the U.S. military to conduct mass deportations of migrants, stating he will employ the military up to the 'maximum' legal extent to round up and deport illegal immigrants. In an interview with Time magazine, Trump indicated he is willing to establish camps to detain migrants before deportation and is prepared to do "whatever it takes" to remove illegal immigrants from the country, adding, "I don't care." He compared illegal immigration to an invasion that must be stopped. Trump asserted that he does not anticipate needing to separate families during deportations, as he intends to send entire families back to their countries of origin. The initiative may begin in Chicago, according to his newly appointed 'border czar'. A recent statistic shows that 59% of Americans support mass deportations.
