Following Texas's loss to Georgia, Oregon has ascended to the No. 1 spot in both the AP Top 25 and the coaches polls for Week 9, marking the first time since 2012 that the Ducks have held the top position. Oregon received 59 first-place votes in the AP poll, while Georgia received two. Texas dropped from No. 1 to No. 5 after the home defeat, and Georgia is now ranked No. 2. Penn State and Ohio State occupy the No. 3 and No. 4 spots, respectively. Vanderbilt entered the AP Top 25, while Michigan fell out of the rankings.
