TEPCO Ex-Chair Tsunehisa Katsumata Dies at 84 Amid Fukushima Trial

Tsunehisa Katsumata, former chairman of Tokyo Electric Power Co. (TEPCO) during the March 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and subsequent Fukushima nuclear disaster, has died at the age of 84. Katsumata was strongly held responsible for the nuclear accident and was on trial over his role in the disaster at the time of his death. His passing comes before the conclusion of his legal battle.
