Apr 24, 2024, 07:48 PM
U.S. authorities have arrested Keonne Rodriguez in Pennsylvania and William Lonergan Hill in Portugal, the founders of the cryptocurrency mixing service Samourai Wallet, on charges of money laundering and operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. The Department of Justice alleges that the service facilitated over $100 million in money laundering transactions and executed more than $2 billion in unlawful transactions. Hill is expected to be extradited. The domain of Samourai Wallet has also been seized as part of the crackdown.
