U.S. OFAC and State Department Sanction Entities and Individuals for Iran's Military Navigational Systems, Ballistic Missiles, and UAVs

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on two entities and two individuals for their involvement in developing and procuring components for sensitive navigational systems used by the Iranian military. The entities targeted include the Iran-based Sanat Danesh Rahpuyan Aflak Company Ltd (SDRA), which sold over one thousand SEPEHR navigation systems to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization (IRGC ASF SSJO), and the Switzerland-based Illumove SA, along with SDRA's CEO Mohammed Abedininajafabadi and CTO Kaveh Merat. Concurrently, the U.S. Department of State has sanctioned one individual and two entities linked to Iran's ballistic missile and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) programs. The State Department's actions target Brigadier General Sayyed Hosein Majid Mousavi Eftekhari, the deputy commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Aerospace Force, and two other entities involved in the production of Shahed-series UAVs, including the Shaheed-136 UAVs, and ballistic missiles. These measures, enacted under Executive Order 13382 and Executive Order 13949, are part of broader U.S. efforts to curb Iran's proliferation of weapons that destabilize the Middle East and support Russia's war efforts in Ukraine.
