Ipswich Secure First Home Premier League Win Since 2002, Defeating Chelsea 2-0
Dec 30, 2024, 09:13 PM
Ipswich Town secured a stunning 2-0 victory over Chelsea in a Premier League match, marking their first home win of the season and their first at home in the top flight since 2002. Liam Delap opened the scoring in the 12th minute, winning and converting a penalty after being fouled by Filip Jorgensen. Omari Hutchinson, a former Chelsea player, doubled the lead in the 53rd minute, capitalizing on an error by Axel Disasi and celebrating with a backflip against his former club. Chelsea, managed by Enzo Maresca, have now dropped points in three consecutive games and failed to reclaim second place in the Premier League standings. Enzo Fernández captained the Blues and played the full match.
