The Department of Energy is conducting aerial scans over the city to detect any radiological or nuclear irregularities, employing helicopters equipped with advanced technology to ensure safety. Additionally, a significant security presence has been organized, with approximately 7,800 National Guard members from across the U.S. deployed to assist with inauguration efforts. This includes members from the Illinois National Guard, with 140 soldiers and airmen set to support security operations.
